Amman, March 17 (Petra) -- Minister of Youth Raed Adwan on Tuesday reviewed preparations for the launch of a package of training programs at youth centers, scheduled to begin on April 1. The review took place during an expanded coordination meeting with partner institutions responsible for implementing the programs, aimed at ensuring readiness and seamless collaboration among all parties.
Adwan said the initiative is part of a plan to activate youth centers to meet young people’s needs and develop their skills across multiple tracks. He emphasized that the programs are being implemented in partnership with official, national, and international specialized institutions, with close monitoring and evaluation to improve execution quality.
The minister noted that the ministry continues to develop programs that empower youth, prepare them for future skills, and provide a supportive environment within the centers.
Partner institutions outlined the implementation and coordination mechanisms during the meeting. The package includes educational programs such as English skills enhancement, English for job seekers, and vocational guidance and training; leadership programs including youth leadership qualification initiatives "Soutak" and "Nashami"; sports programs including football, taekwondo, jiu-jitsu, and boxing; artistic and craft programs such as painting and embroidery of traditional fringes and headscarves; and music and heritage programs including training in piano, organ, percussion, mijwiz, and samsamiya instruments, in addition to a tourism-focused site guide program and an e-games program in the digital domain.
According to the ministry, the digital registration platform has received nearly 8,000 applications to date, with over 5,000 young men and women expected to benefit from 18 training programs, reflecting strong youth interest in these initiatives.
